Step 6  CONTINUED – Why should you care what Jesus is doing with His Church?

Why would, for example, the apostle Paul tell Christians to “test” themselves to see if Jesus lives “in” them if we were not responsible to make certain for ourselves that we are standing on Jesus’ side with Him and not still living in the ancient Rebellion in His Kingdom of Heaven spread to humankind (2 Corinthians 13:5; 11:2-4; Romans 14:4; 1 Corinthians 4:1-5)?

I read that 1 John 3:4 references regarding “lawlessness” with my Masters Degree in Diplomacy with a Concentration in International Conflict Management and I immediately “get” in the natural dimension what John and especially what King Jesus (John 18:36-37) are saying by “lawlessness” in the spiritual dimension.

But anyone who does not understand how a Government works anywhere and in any dimension may not be too familiar with the term “lawlessness”. 

If you are not prepared to receive Jesus as King of Heaven having “first place in everything” you will likely read that and say, “Wow. That’s quite a mystery. Who can understand sin and lawlessness?”

But it’s not a mystery at all.

Let me help you take the mystery out of the basics of this idea of “lawlessness” that has everything to do with how Jesus is going to finally Judge ALL PEOPLE on the Last Day and especially those who think they are on His side of “lawlessness” from the King of Heaven’s perspective of them they simply are not (Matthew 7:21-23).

Do you know of any “Christian” who does NOT think they are standing on Jesus’ side of the Rebellion?

Who is Jesus even talking about in Matthew 7:21-23?

Sin and lawlessness are integrally related to each other because they BOTH are understood in the CONTEXT of a Government ruling its citizens who are supposed to OBEY the Government and its Laws. In God’s Government to disobey His Words (having authority of Law) is to “sin,” and to disobey is “lawlessness” in His Kingdom. Again, where is it considered “lawlessness”?

The answer is that it is considered “lawlessness” in the Kingdom of Heaven that the world does not receive but disciples of Jesus making up His Church ARE RECEIVING (John 17:14-26; 1 Corinthians 2:12-16).

If you want probably the BEST explanation or picture of what living RIGHT with God is according to His “rule” in Heaven I would recommend reading all of John 17:1-26.

You are suddenly transported into ANOTHER WORLD … His World not of this world … by the King of Heaven into His WORLD called the Kingdom of Heaven! Read Revelation 1:1-20 or 21:1-27 for a couple of glimpses or Revelations of what it really is like or will be like in Jesus’ Kingdom of Heaven that is, again, not of this world still dealing with the Rebellion in His Kingdom.

I then recommend moving on to reading John 16:7-15 about the Primary Mission of King Jesus to earth being carried out even as we speak by the Helper Holy Spirit to “convict the world concerning sin, righteousness and judgment” in His Kingdom.

Go even further back to John 15:1-8 and you will learn the mystery of “abiding” in Jesus and His Kingdom of Heaven as a “branch” abiding in the “vine” and the expectation Jesus has about “fruit” coming out of our life that “proves” we are His “disciples” and citizens of Heaven (Philippians 3:17-21).

To NOT “abide” in Jesus the King of Heaven and Head of His Church is like a “branch” living apart from God … on the other side of the Rebellion … and is just another way to understand His Kingdom and the concept of “lawlessness”.

Then go back even further to John 14:1-31 and you are introduced to so many of the VERY REAL parts of Jesus’ Gospel in 3D including the very revealing statement of Jesus, “the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me …” speaking of the Devil and the Rebellion rising up to crucify the King of Heaven but since “he has nothing in Me” (no “sin” and not “lawlessness” according to the Kingdom of Heaven) Jesus raises from the dead (because “the wages of sin is death” but no sin = no death) and He suddenly becomes to us “the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me” and His Kingdom of Heaven again is where the Father is by His Spirit (John 14:6-7).

By reading those recommended passages from John you will travel in all 3D’s that His Church MUST receive and learn to “walk in the same manner as He walked” (1 John 2:3-6).

That is how we “abide” in Jesus and His Kingdom (D1) through His Gift (D2) and live “on earth” (D3) “as it is in heaven” (D1) and THAT is one way to answer the question of this Step: Why should you care what Jesus is doing with His Church?
