Why is Freedom Missions for Thraldom called a "Radio Theater"?
What I have created could be most accurately described as an “Audio Theater” production even as it is sold and consumed much like an online streaming “Audio Book” in its format.
Allow me to briefly explain what I mean and to distinguish what I have created from a traditional Audio Book.
I personally choose to use the “Radio Theater” label to describe my productions here at Pokyra for my own reasons.
You could also use synonymous descriptions such as “Audio Drama” or “Audio Theater” or “Radio Drama”.
It’s NOT an “Audio Book” in the traditional sense where one Actor reads the Narrative parts as well as performs all of the Character parts as well. Sort of like picking up a Book and reading it “as is” on the pages.
For starters, Radio Theater uses a Script and not a Book format.
For this first Project titled, “Silas and Anthony’s Freedom Missions for Thraldom”, I use 8 different Actors playing 27 different Characters who bring my Script to life.
Still, my vision and goal was to create that “feel” of a traditional “Radio Theater” but not performed LIVE so it has a bit more “polish” to it as a result when compared to a LIVE Theater performance.
I wanted to bring together a team of professional Voice Actors who perform and record their own parts in their Studios and I simply put all those collective parts into my own Sound Design as I have envisioned it for the dimensions of Thraldom and Pokyra.
I personally like the term “Radio Theater” because even though my finished Product in many ways has more “polish” than a LIVE Theater performance, what I am creating still maintains ENOUGH of that distinctive “Radio” “unpolished” “feel” to send you back to an almost forgotten period in entertainment when … like me and my family as a kid in the 1970’s … would just click on the Radio in the car and listen to live Mystery theater on those long car rides across the country.
When I say “polished” or “unpolished” I mean when compared to a Television Episode or Movie “feel” that has to be flawlessly “polished”, for example, including almost every “sound” you “see” to meet the expectations of most viewers.
More “polished” means the production takes more of the audiences’ imagination away … at least that is how I view it.
A “Radio Theater” type of artform allows the listener to use more of their imagination to fill in the blanks … so to speak … of each scene playing out in the Story.
Of course, a strong Narrator role is important in “Radio Theater” to give the listener enough to run with regarding their own imagination’s role in the experience.
Then, a few sound effects (as opposed to many sound effects) and some tasteful music background choices placed strategically throughout a scene also has its important role to help the listener “take off” into the imaginary world of the Story.
The pleasing result is a sort of revival of an almost lost artform of “Radio Theater” … but still taking full advantage of 21st century production tools to pull it all off with my team of professional Actors who live in various parts of the world.
Again, what I have created is likely more accurately described as “Audio Theater” than a pure “Radio Theater” mostly because it is not performed and broadcasted LIVE.
But who knows … maybe a purely LIVE Radio Theater version may be part of its future?

“Silas and Anthony’s Freedom Missions for thraldom”
A PREQUEL to THE WEEKLY SERIES
Consider this initial two-part production of “Silas and Anthony’s Freedom Missions for Thraldom” in some ways like the longer “made-for-TV” Movie version of a Story broadcast as the Prequel before the shorter more compact Television Series Episodes begin the Weekly regular series based on that TV Movie.
The obvious difference is that instead of a Television Movie and Television Series combination it is simply a longer “Radio Theater” (this first Production) combined with shorter “Radio Theater” (future Weekly Episodes and Seasons).
Part 1 of my “Silas and Anthony” Prequel Radio Theater production is about an hour and a half in length while Part 2 is just over two hours in length. Part 1 and 2 are sold TOGETHER as one M4B “Audiobook” Product so expect a 3 hour 41 minute adventure with this first offering from Pokyra.
In comparison, a future single Weekly Episode will be about 45 minutes in length.
Weekly Episodes (Season 1 – 24 Episodes) – What to Expect?
Each new Episode of my future weekly series will have a brand new main Character and a brand new H1 Meaningful Mission to fulfill. Each ever-changing Fictional Thraldom scenario should be relateable in some way to your own Non-Fictional “Your Life In 3D” that I teach about here at my Pokyra Life Coaching business for serious disciples of Jesus.
Expect each of the “stand alone” or uniquely different new Character driven episodes to go back and forth from what I like to call a STARTSTORY Storyline (the Gospel of Jesus in Parable form for NEW Believers or “Gate Runners” seeking Salvation) and what I call a CONTINUEDSTORY (the Gospel of Jesus in Parable form for devoted Disciples of Jesus).
The STARTSTORY and CONTINUEDSTORY is set within unlimited “Scenes Under ONE” and relateable “Thraldom” circumstances and problems to overcome that we all might be going through at some point in our journey of faith in Jesus. It’s how I teach the Gospel of Jesus and “make disciples” for Him here at Pokyra (Matthew 28:18-20).
